Sandy Harris

Sandy Harris grew up on a farm in eastern North Carolina. There, with grit under his fingernails and dirt in his shoes, he learned to love the land and the critters that call it home. After receiving degrees in Wildlife Biology from NC State, and Forest Biology from Auburn University, he has spent time as a farmer, Sunday School teacher, biologist, forester, environmental scientist, and freelance writer, chronicling his hunting adventures with primitive bows he carves from trees. Influenced early on by Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer TV series, he’s always had a soft spot in his heart for a good mystery. In At First Light, his first published novel, he cleverly intertwines his love for the natural world with those classic, gritty crime mysteries. Sandy resides in Wetumpka, AL with his wife, Kristy, and two sons, Ethan and Eli.
