Laia Vilaseca

Laia Vilaseca (Barcelona, 1981) is a writer. In 2021 her novel The Girl in the Blue Dress hit bookstores after becoming a bestseller during the three years it was self-published on Amazon. At that time it captured many more readers, and Laia Vilaseca became the revelation author of crime novels in Catalan.

In 2022 she published When the thaw comes, a fast-paced and addictive thriller set in Yosemite National Park in which nature and mystery were once again the protagonists. The publication was awarded best novel of 2022 by the Lloret Negre festival.

The Silence Island is the author's fourth novel, a frenetic but also emotional rural noir that immerses the reader in the lives of the characters and captivates them from the first page.
