C William Keck

Dr. Bill Keck (C. William Keck, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P.M.) has been involved in serving the public and working within organizations for the public good for most of his life.

On the formal side, he is Professor Emeritus and former Chair of the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, and former Director of Health for the City of Akron. He holds an MD degree from Case Western Reserve University, and an MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. He is Past-President of the American Public Health Association, the Council on Education for Public Health, the Ohio Public Health Association, the Association of Ohio Health Commissioners, and the Summit County Medical Society. He currently chairs the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice and their Academic Health Department Learning Community, is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Medical Education Cooperation with Cuba (MEDICC) and is Editor in Chief of the journal, MEDICC Review. Dr. Keck is board certified in Preventive Medicine/Public Health and is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine.

On the soft side, he is a former Peace Corp physician, and has been involved in many international missions of service.

His observations are sound relating to collaboration, and many feel his mentoring is a very helpful thing as they strive to work with others for the public good.
