John Blahut

A Missouri native, growing up in the suburbs of St. Louis, I had a love for nature as a child spending all my time roaming the wood and chasing small animals. There wasn't a fish in the state that didn't fear my approach.

As I grew older, life took me to Kansas City where I found my best friend and co-writer Joseph Pugh. We started writing a web series that I created while downing a fifth of tequila. The series is funny and we vow to one day have it produced, but until that day we have moved on to writing novels.

I have since moved on to Austin, Texas. A lovely town with barely a week of cold weather every year.

I always knew I was a writer. I started as a child with poetry. In my teens those poems turned into songs and my hair into a mohawk. As I got older still, I explored screenwriting and stand up comedy. I have now moved into the world of writing fiction. My first novel, The Trials of Jack Kemper, which was co-written with my hetero life mate Joe, is the first novel of the Liberty Island series.
