I’ve always been a hopeless romantic at heart. I’m a sucker for Meg Ryan movies. Books have always been a big part of my passion and inspiration on a wide scale, everything from Wuthering Heights, Pat Conroy, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Nicholas Sparks, to John Connolly, Harlan Coben, Lee Child and C.S. Lewis.
Harborwood is a passion nearly three years in the making that I couldn’t seem to keep from showing up on the page. It shares some of that youthful longing that many people feel, a sense of drifting and trying to decide where you fit in the world. I hope you like it.
I grew up in rural northwestern New Jersey, on the edge of New York City’s shadow. My summers were spent with weeks at the Jersey shore in towns like Ocean City and Ocean Grove and baseball games at Yankee Stadium with my dad. After school I moved to Manhattan working in the pharmaceutical industry, got married, and moved back to New Jersey. Six years ago my wife, three sons, and I moved south and quickly fell in love with Richmond, Virginia.
