Doug LeCroy

Doug LeCroy, uprooted from country life while still a child, moved to a small town in South Carolina where he attended high school. There he enjoyed playing football and winning many track and field events. The day after graduation, at the ripe old age of 18, he married the love of his life, Clarene Hunnicutt. Their marriage was blessed with six children: Lisa, Jeff, Kathy, and triplets: Eric, Sherri and Terri.

After dropping out of college, due to the necessity of eating and feeding his family, Doug engaged in numerous occupations: railroad station agent and telegraph operator, car and insurance sales, loan officer, and masonry contracting. Although interesting, he found none of them satisfying, and decided to go it alone by starting his own appliance business. Now retired from that business, and living as a widower, he spends his time doing what he loves best: writing short stories and "hanging out with his girlfriend, Coco, The Dog Wonder. When not concocting humorous tales, or playing fetch, he writes a popular opinion column for online and print publication.

While still in high school, he vowed to one day write a novel. Finally, after more years than he cares to remember, DEATH BY THE NUMBERS is the result of that long-ago promise he made to himself. This book is dedicated to the memory of the love of his life - without Clarene, none of this would be possible.

DEATH BY THE NUMBERS is a mystery novel like none other. He challenges the reader to unravel the mystery before the last chapter. The who, how, and why of this "who dunnit" will surprise all mystery fans. Even who the hero is, is debatable.
