Earl E. Rogers was born in Chicago in 1947. He attended Argo Community High School and Gage Park High School. After graduation in 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and spent one year of training in Colorado followed by a three year assignment in Spain. He also served temporary duty of three months in Iran under the Pahlavi government. After leaving the Air Force in 1968, Earl attended the University of Illinois at Chicago. He graduated with a degree in psychology. He taught high school for one year and became interested in flying during that time. He first soloed in 1971. He has accumulated over 20,000 hours of flight time as a flight instructor, charter pilot, freight pilot, and airline captain on domestic and international routes. He is type rated in the EMB110, L188, B727, and B757/767.
As a pilot, Earl had the opportunity to travel to over forty countries. He is fluent in Spanish, speaks some French and German. He has lived in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Toledo Spain, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Although he writes fiction, much of his writing is based on personal experiences.
