Jelissa

Jelissa is the C.O.O. and co-founder of T & J Publications Presents, a publishing house that targets African-American women writers who focus on urban novels, Christian fiction, contemporary romance with a taste of street literature. Prior to co-founding her publishing company, Jelissa has been writing professionally since 2016.

She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Odyssey Project, a course in the humanities for students facing economic barriers to college. There she dedicated 9 months to studying the works of Socrates, Plato, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and many other prolific writers. She is currently pursuing an associate’s degree in business management.

Jelissa has a robust publication history. On her own, she has written five books, including the following: If Loving Him Is Wrong, I Don’t Want to Be Right (Parts 1 and 2) and Love Me Even When It Hurts (Parts 1, 2 and 3). Her journey as an entrepreneur and writer has been featured in both the August issue of BRAVA Magazine and in the Wisconsin CapTimes.

Jelissa resides in Madison, Wisconsin with her husband and two sons.
