At the age of fifteen, Trinidadian native Anton Charles was uprooted from the island and brought to the United States to be reunited with his parents. Shortly after reuniting he dealt with the separation of his parents, which drove him to the tough streets of Brooklyn, NY. With a baby on the way and after almost losing his life he was prompted to join the Military. While in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) he had another brush with death when the vehicle he was driving was hit at an intersection, that landed him in the hospital. Four months later he was delivered devastating news about his son, but went to basic training despite the news. Driven by the dream he had as a child to be an engineer he was given the opportunity to fulfill his dreams as he worked his way up the ranks in the United States Navy. Even though he found success there was always a dark cloud over him.
Two years into his career he was delivered more devastating news from his home port. After his failed attempt at suicide he has transformed has now channeled his despair into the ability to reach other and encourage them to build on their adversity.
