K.M. Ross

Kim Michelle Ross is a Speculative-fiction author and aspiring novelist and she has published short stories and flash fiction as K.M.Ross, Kim Michele Ross and Kim Ross but mostly she answers to Mum. Her career has been varied from biology to pathology, a short stint as a landscape gardener, a Mail Officer and medieval re-enactor player with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).

Kim was a Hunter Writers' Centre member between 2007-14, and the facilitator of Women@theLockup writers group 2009-11. In 2009 Varuna's Peter Bishop (former director) and Helen Barnes-Bullie, highly praised her speculative-fiction trilogy, Netherrealm. She was granted a 2010 Lit-Link Mentorship, with award-winning speculative fiction poet & author, Jenny Blackford. She's also a member of the Newcastle Speculative Fiction Writers, and Books Go Social (BGS) Fantasy/Paranormal, a small international writer's critique-support group.

She lives in Newcastle, NSW, Australia, with her husband, three (sorta) grown-up boys, and Benny, the family golden retriever. She's also a belly dancer and she performs professionally with Silk Caravan Belly Dance Troupe. During a tour of Egypt in 2010, Kim and her fellow Silk Caravan troupe members danced on the Nile River—not actually on the water—but a cruise ship sailing from Aswan to Luxor.
