Michael Whaite

Michael has been drawing from a very young age. His first book ‘Fred the Bear’ (written age 5) didn’t win any awards, but his Mum liked it.

Michael began his career in animation at Cosgrove Hall Films, but never gave up on his ambition of being a published author. In 2017, his dreams came true when Diggersaurs hit the shelves. His third book 100 Dogs received a lot of attention and won Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Of the Year Prize in 2018. This collection of canines was also nominated for the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize the following year.

It didn’t win, but his Mum liked it.
