Gerry Orz
Gerry Orz was born in Brooklyn NY and currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his 2 mothers. Gerry’s older brother is a 20-years old Computer Science student at the University of Washington. Gerry enjoys watching football, baseball, reading, traveling with his family, playing video games, and most of all – creating stories and watching movies. Gerry started writing at the age of 5 and since the age of 8 he’s written and directed his own films including several important PSAs, a film that has received commercial distribution – “the Equation of life” (also available through Amazon Prime), and a series of short live action and animated films housed on his YouTube channel “World According to G”.
After going through a terrible bullying experience in 3rd grade, Gerry was inspired to make a difference in the world. Gerry believes that kids relate better to other kids and movies rather than lectures and brochures. He decides to produce several educational short films and create a non-profit organization called “Kids Resource”. "I want to make movies that will have a positive impact on today’s youth and will inspire them to follow my footsteps to find a better tomorrow." He got to a great start when he produced several films that inspired a new bill in CA Senate.
In 2013, Gerry founded a production company called Flying Eagle Productions dedicated to making films that not only entertain but inspire and educate as well. Gerry’s achievements include a number of awards from festivals and competitions around the globe.
Although only 15 yrs. old, Gerry continues to develop his skills as a filmmaker by attending multiple classes, working with wonderful mentors themselves acclaimed artists in the film-making world, and keeping current with the latest tools and equipment of his trade. Gerry emulates all the great filmmakers in the history of cinema and hopes to be able to learn from the best.
In 2017, Gerry released his first full-size novel “Lucky or Not, Here I Come” which has received great reviews. He is currently working on a production of a new animated series “Days of our Rovers” and is in a development of a new story for his next book.
