I love to write, I enjoy the tactile feel and hardy sound of a good keyboard beneath my fingers. I love to explore human problems through fiction. I love adventure and pathos and telling stories that move readers.
I was born in the seaside city of New Bedford and began writing poetry at first, then prose, in my early 20s. Since then I've been a pretty steady writer of short stories. I attended school on Cape Cod, then in England before completing my degree in English Literature here in New Hampshire.
I'm a widower with two kids and a dog.
I've been selling stories pretty consistently since 2005 when Iron Bars and the Glass Jaw landed at www.escapepod.org. I have two books in print, Escape Clause, a collection of 10 superhero stories, and Fleas, a collection of 10 stories set in the same flea market. I am now releasing stories directly into the kindle story and preparing a new volume of Union Dues stories for both digital and paperback delivery. My fiction has appeared in podcast form, collected in the anthologies Live Free or Die Die Die! Live Free or Sci Fi! and Live Free or Undead! I have also written several stories for Tales of World War Z website.
