Stories have always found Greg Williams. As a boy in Many, Louisiana, they arrived at night, and by morning his hand would be scribbling across the page, getting each one down before the light could snatch it away. That habit never left him. It just started competing with a day job.
The day job turned into more than thirty years in the oilfield, from roughneck to Director of Operations, most of them in deepwater. His work has taken him from the Gulf of Mexico to the Congo, across West Africa, the Mediterranean, and Asia, leading multinational crews in some of the most remote and high-risk workplaces on earth. He is based in Dubai, UAE. It's a world where nobody cares about your pitch and the work is the only thing that speaks, and it has shown him humanity at its best and most courageous.
Both sides of his life ended up on the page. Our Horizon: In the Moment is his first-hand account of the Deepwater Horizon and its crew, told by one of their own. Exium: A Science Fiction Murder Mystery comes from the boy who wrote his dreams down. And Can't Sell a D*mn Thing is everything three decades of blue-collar work taught him about selling yourself when you hate selling.
Williams loves to connect with his readers.
