Mark Howell
About the Author
Mark Howell holds a BA and MA in literature from Trinity College, Cambridge University, England.
He and his twin brother Michael are the younger brothers of the late Diana Lamplugh, OBE, whose daughter Suzy mysteriously disappeared and her body never found.
Mark is a veteran of the British paperback industry, beginning with his role as acquisitions editor at New English Library, followed by senior editorship at Mayflower Books, an imprint of Granada Publishing, where he joined editors such as Sonny Mehta and Nick Austin, who once told “Paperback Fanatic” that Mark Howell was the “best editorial risk-taker” in a period of “coruscating creativity and high jinks”. Those high jinks included a rewritten version of “Shield and Sword” by Vadim Kozhevnikov, the original of which Vladimir Putin has claimed had the greatest influence on his life.
As a journalist in Key West, Florida, he was a recipient of 14 Excellence in Journalism awards from the Florida Press Club.
