John Bair

John Bair currently works for an eDiscovery firm out of Seattle, as a Senior Consultant performing digital forensics. He retired from law enforcement in August 2018, after nearly 30 combined years with two agencies. While a police detective, John specialized in mobile forensics recovery related to violent crimes.

For several years he also provided on-going training to detectives, local prosecutors, and judicial officers. He periodically instructed for Fox Valley Technical College, presenting on proper digital evidence handling techniques related to the Amber Alert Program (DOJ). In 2014 he began teaching part time at the University of Washington - Tacoma. He created their current digital mobile forensic courses that address fundamental, intermediate, and advanced concepts. This includes JTAG, ISP, thermal, and non-thermal memory removal and decoding.

In the spring of 2019, he navigated the level III course to a first ever, on-line format.
