Ronald Lamont

Ron is a U.S. Navy veteran and former (now retired) high-level manager with the Department of Defense; specifically, the Department of the Navy. When not extracting wild notions from the recesses of his imagination and imparting them upon the pages of a book, Ron is actively involved in fitness and the community. One of his favorite such endeavors is holding book signings in support of local charities. His latest venture is writing award-winning screenplays based on his books "Smoke and Mirrors," "Post-Mortem Narrative," and "Fate's Intervention."

In Ron's own words:

"I’ve always enjoyed mysteries; whether in the form of a novel, a television show, or a film. There is something gratifying about being taken on a journey via interesting characters, plot twists and turns, promising leads and discouraging dead ends, all leading up to the big surprise… the ultimate conclusion.

Like many of you I always tried to figure out the ’whodunnit’. Sometimes it was too easy and I felt less than satisfied at the not-so-dramatic ending. Sometimes it was impossible to determine because the ‘how and why’ were not given until the killer was revealed; which is generally provided in the form of a flashback during said reveal. Ah, but when the writer places little tidbits along the way, often appearing to be innocuous but are in fact relevant, and you experience the epiphany when the killer is unveiled… now THAT is gold. When writing a mystery I always strive for the latter: to keep the reader guessing until the unmasking; at which time the nuggets I had planted along the way becomes a pathway through the labyrinth."
