Brian Tomaszewski

Brian Tomaszewski, Ph.D., is a geographer, researcher, educator, and author with more than 20 years of professional experience in geographic information science and technology, spatial data science, disaster management, artificial intelligence, and geospatial digital twins. He is the author of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Disaster Management and has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers.

His international research has included work in Germany, Jordan, Poland, and Rwanda, including collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. As a Principal Investigator, he has led major research projects supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation. He has also served as a Fulbright Scholar in Poland, advancing international research and education in geospatial technologies and spatial data science.

His books draw upon two decades of research, teaching, and international field experience to make advances in geospatial technology accessible and applicable to real-world problems.

Dr. Tomaszewski earned his Ph.D. in Geography from The Pennsylvania State University and is a Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology.
