Jo Bradford

Jo Bradford is a photographic artist, author, and educator based between Cornwall and Dartmoor. She is Course Leader for BA (Hons) Marine and Natural History Photography at Falmouth University, where her teaching is shaped by a long-standing interest in play, experimentation, and the conditions under which creative work becomes possible.

Her books include Smart Phone Smart Photography and Smart Phone Smart Photo Editing (CICO/RPS), Smart Photos (White Lion Publishing), and ViewPoint (Octopus Publishing Group). Her fifth book, The Authentic Photographer, is forthcoming from Octopus. Her work has been translated into Chinese, Dutch, French, and German, among other languages. Across these titles, she writes about photography as a practice of attention — accessible, personal, and grounded in the act of looking rather than the accumulation of technical knowledge.

Jo maintains an active creative practice concerned with materiality, memory, and the passage of time. Her project If Not Now, When was awarded the Solo Satellite Exhibition Prize at PORTRAITS – Hellerau Photography Award. She serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Darkroom Trust.
