Sam Gould’s active career includes 40 years of leadership in corporate management, the military, and academia. During the later he served as professor of management, director of business research, and as dean of business administration. Sam’s research has been widely published, and he has consulted with businesses, governments, and nonprofit organizations throughout his career. In his early thirties Sam began a personal program of in-depth theological study which continues today. He has filled key lay administrative positions and led adult classes in churches spanning several protestant denominations. As dean of the school of business administration at a major catholic university Sam worked creatively and tirelessly to integrate Catholic social thought into the business school curriculum. In retirement Sam has served on community boards, worked as executive director of a local nonprofit family services organization, and for the past fourteen years has been the board chairman for a local community bank. In retirement he has published three Christian themed books, A Faith Beyond Mere Belief, Being Christian in the Twenty-First Century, and most recently, An Open Christianity. Sam has earned an undergraduate degree in liberal arts from Ohio University, an MBA from the University of Colorado, and a PhD in organizational behavior from Michigan State University. He holds the title dean emeritus at the University of Dayton. He and Elaine have been married for 62 years and have three married sons and eight grandchildren. They reside in Divide, Colorado, and spend springtime in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
