Clare Elsom

Clare Elsom is a children's illustrator and author.

She is the creator of young fiction series Horace & Harriet, and has illustrated dozens of other children’s books, including the popular Flying Fergus series written by Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy and Joanna Nadin, Furry Friends by Holly Webb, The Great Dodo Comeback by Fiona Sandiford and Superheroes Don’t Get Scared by Kate Thompson.

Clare grew up in Oxford, then studied a BA in Illustration at Falmouth University (lots of drawing) and later completed an MA in Children's Literature at Roehampton University (lots of writing).

After living in London for several years she ran away to beautiful Devon with her husband and young son, and in her spare time likes paddle boarding, perfecting a headstand and reading about dinosaurs.
