As an author, I am intrigued by the way characters emerge to take control of what was just an idea and turn it into a story. I want readers to care about those individuals and/but also about an underlying issue that they embody. Those elements cut across all genres and take me with them.

“Satisfaction In Times of Anger” is a Crime story that asks how, when people hurt you, you can avoid simply being reduced to a victim. “Blindsided” is a Thriller that pursues the lengths a character will go to, or not, in order to be the hero of their own story. “Loving Country” is a Romance that reflects on how different individuals see the fuzzy borderline between caring for someone and controlling them. “The Promised Planet” is a Science Fiction novel that takes a 21st Century perspective on possible developments when those who have previously been persecuted assume power over others. Most important, of course, is to have a cracking tale that makes readers engage with the characters in it. Even if their attitudes to those people change as the story develops.

Previously, I worked internationally in English language teacher education and as a counsellor/therapist in the UK. I see "Continuing Cooperative Development" (2002) and "The Reflexive Teacher Educator" (2011) as my main contributions to those fields.
