Mr Vivian Charles Ward

I am a UK registered lawyer specializing in commercial and residential real estate. For most of my career I have worked in the corporate sector, most recently and since 2013 on contract with HB Public Law, a shared legal service covering several boroughs in London and the home counties. My main love is writing about the work I do. I began more than 30 years ago writing for Legal Executive Journal as well as a weekly law page for Local Government Chronicle (LGC) and Mainly for Students' articles for Estates Gazette. Encouraged by the managing director of LGC, I published my first book, Local Authority Companies - 1996, which sold out on a 1000 print run. My first significant book was Residential Leaseholders' Handbook, originally published 2006 by Estates Gazette, whose book portfolio was later transferred to International publisher, Taylor and Francis. Although I have since published some books myself using the KDP self-publishing platform, those with more academic content are now being published through the Routledge imprint of Taylor and Francis. These include Housing Regeneration: a Plan for implementation (2018); and Fire Safety Law: a Practical Guide for Leaseholders, Building Owners and Conveyancers (2023). I've also just submitted my manuscript for The Renters' Rights Act 2025: a Practical Guide, which will affect most private residential lettings from 1st May 2026. I also do presentations.
