Paul Sterman was born in Smithtown, NY. When Paul was 3 years old, he actually had a pet squirrel when a baby squirrel happened to fall down his chimney! The squirrel lived with his family until it was old enough to survive on its own in the wild.
At the age of 7 Paul moved to San Diego, California where he lived for 7 years. At the age of 14 he moved back to the east coast to live in New Jersey, where he still resides with his wonderful wife and awesome daughters.
Paul has had many pets through the years including: cats, Boxer dogs (with 2 litters), a duck (yes a duck), chickens, a rabbit, a snake, mice (which were kept safely away from the snake!), a hamster, a cockatiel bird, fish, triops, and a crayfish.
Paul Sterman is a medical doctor who specializes in treating kidney disease and blood pressure (he is a nephrologist). He also teaches nephrology to other medical doctors at local and regional board review courses. Paul Sterman has also published scientific papers in medical journals (which is quite different than writing children's books!).
While learning how to take pictures of his daughters dancing and playing basketball, Paul has picked up the hobby of photography as something he likes to do to relax.
