Ranjit Bauri

Dr. Ranjit Bauri obtained his PhD from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in 2005. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He is a passionate teacher and researcher. One of his major research areas is friction based manufacturing processes such as Friction stir welding (FSW), Friction stir processing (FSP) and Friction deposition. The other areas of his research are Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs), Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) and Hydrogen energy. He loves to teach various subjects on Materials Engineering. He has been also practicing and teaching Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and has even offered this course online through the NPTEL online course platform.
