Tom Cabot

Tom Cabot is a London-based book editor and designer with a background in experimental psychology, natural science and graphic design. He founded the London-based book project-management company, Ketchup, and has produced, designed and illustrated books for many publishers and organisations, including: Bloomsbury, the British Film Institute, Ebury Press, Penguin Random House, whitefox, IPSO and RIBA. Tom has meanderingly pursued a lifelong ambition to explain science graphically and inclusively. He is currently reassessing his tight cleaving to scientific monism and the increasingly fragile orthodoxy that the self-reflexive consciousness of humans can simply be explained as an epiphenomenon of biochemical complexity and is exclusive to higher-order fauna. Consciousness, he believes, Is non-computational. Our best Materialist description of the Universe via Quantum Mechanics, General Relativity and direct measurement is gently ripping at the seams. Ptolemaic Cosmology MkII? ;) He is a great admirer of Roger Penrose and his work. He lives on the wonderful Telegraph Hill, London, with Megan and two almost grown-up daughters.
