I must have been 10, just before secondary school, when I first heard an audience laughing at something I wrote.
A brilliant pastiche of The Beverly Hillbillies with our teachers in the main roles, well I thought it was brilliant anyway. Then came exams, work, kids etc. etc. and despite a few articles published in learned journals, creative writing was strictly for my own consumption.
Then in 2015 when an adult education course run by the excellent Janni Howker reignited my creative juices. Poems, performances at writing events and my first payment, £25 for a piece of writing has now spurred me to struggling to complete my first novel in August 2017 “Cyprus Journey, Zenos Rock- Ola-Year.”
Currently I am working on a radio play and soon a performance of a play is scheduled in September 2017 for a scratch theatre event in Liverpool. My writing reflects my roots in Cypriot culture and growing up as an immigrant in London as well as love, fatherhood and my favourite pastime dancing tango. There’s a poem on this page written after a trip to Buenois Aires at the height of my Tango madness. Also please enjoy chapter one of my novel. You want to read the rest? Hurry hurry stocks of the book are running low on Amazon. I wish.
