William James Barry

I grew up in a small town in upstate New York, surrounded by a great family and fabulous friends, and there accumulated a mountain of memories. I served in the US Navy as an assistant navigator on an ammunition ship, the USS Nitro, and spent the better part of two years traveling the world. After my time in the service, I went back to college and majored in marketing and advertising. Over the years, I have owned a paint and wallpaper store, an Ad Agency, and a consulting business. I retired as Director of Professional Services at the Providence Journal. So far, during retirement, I have published seven books - four Novels and three are short story compilations. The three short story books are, 'American Stories for the Grandchildren' - 'A Dozen Amiable Anecdotal Apologues, or Whatever,' and, 'Savory Stories - best read with a Glass of Wine.' The four powerful novels are, 'Someday for Sarah - the Love Story of a WWII Spy,' 'Boston's Own BIG JOE FLYNN,' 'From Caracas to the Corps,' and, 'Through the Golden Portal.' I have priced my books to be extremely reasonable so you might have the opportunity to have a good read, and hopefully, leave a fair review. I thank you in advance. If for some reason you can not afford to buy one of my books, I can be reached at wiljbarry@gmail.com
