Teressa V. Staten

Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, Dr. Teressa V Staten has written numerous articles in educational journals, magazines, conference briefs and technical documents related to education policy. She has held positions at all levels of education and retired as the Chief Deputy Superintendent of the Michigan Department of Education. She holds a B.S. and M. S. degrees from Alabama A&M University, an Ed.S. from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. She also did post-doctoral study at Harvard University. She is an Alumnae member of the Links, Inc., a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Life Member of the NAACP, Phi Delta Kappa and currently a member of McDonough Presbyterian Church.
