Rocky Leplin

Rocky Leplin has written ten books, including HUMPHREY’S LONG JOURNEY AWAY FROM THE SEA, a rhymed verse epic written over ten years, only while walking his dog; five other books in rhymed verse all available on Amazon; and three novels. He has written and composed 500 songs, and an off-world musical, THE PURPOSE OF THE MOON. He represents 20th century symphonic composer Emanuel Leplin. He was a classical music and art reviewer for a chain of East Bay Area newspapers, and an elementary school music teacher, in which he taught third graders how to conduct Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony using chopsticks. He has a BA in Film from UCLA and MA in music composition from Oregon State. He boards dogs at Rocky’s Rover Roadhouse. In 2020 he was a winner of the Writer’s Digest Writing Competition for his story THE INCREDIBLE MAN-EATING MARSHMALLOW. His how-not-to manual A PSYCHO’S GUIDE TO ANIMAL COMPANIONSHIP was a Finalist in the 2022 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. His poem THE APARTMENT BUILDING BORE was a winner of the 2023 Writer’s Digest Writing Competition. In 2024 he was a Finalist in the Next Generation Short Story Awards for THE TUMULTUOUS TIRE REVOLUTION.
