Mike Sills spent most of his life as an environmental engineer but what inspires him the most is his real love of ethnic food… all ethnic food. After his wife, Claire, was involved in a serious auto accident ten years ago, Mike took over cooking every meal for both of them. What transpired was a love of not only eating ethnic food but also cooking it as well. He began to research how it came to be, what it’s made of, how people have passed the recipes from generation to generation and most importantly what memories it evokes when you eat it or smell it. Mike feels we can cherish these memories only if we preserve our homemade ethnic food of the past.
Mike has been a Chief Engineer for both private engineering firms and government agencies. He received engineering degrees from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Connecticut including a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Science. He and his wife Claire live in Bedford, NH.
