E. W. Kirk

E.W. Kirk is the son of an Army Warrant Officer, so, an Army brat in other words. As a youngster from 7-10 years of age, he and his family accompanied his father to the U.S. Army base at Ingrandes, France. During weekends, holidays, and his father's leave, they traveled all over Europe. His head was filled with armored knights and horses; grand castles with their perilous tales of torture; and exciting legends such as fire-breathing dragons and fairy tale unicorns. What an age to experience the different peoples and cultures of Europe!

His father kept grumbling to him, "Never join the Army." After two years of college, he joined the Navy instead. Adventurous times were ahead seeing other parts of the world, such as Asia, where he met his wife. He was stationed aboard USS KIRK (imagine that) during the fall of Saigon, South Vietnam. Individual crew members received a Congressional Commendation as they saved more than 33,000 people during this tumultuous event (more than any U.S. military unit in history). He worked as a Sonar Tech in the Navy, repairing sonar electronic equipment. Following his retirement from the Navy, he became a Technical Writer for 20 years as a Government Contractor.

Kirk claims he was born with a book in his hands. Reading continues to be one of his favorite pastimes, as is watching movies. Now fully retired, he invests time in writing his own books, a lifelong passion and goal. His first one, "Mthunzi: A Paula Jacobs Paranormality," is quickly followed by a different genre, "Badger: A Brighton Early Western." He is currently working on a sequel to his Western, titled "Maricopa." He is also working on a second Paula Jacobs Paranormal novel, "Protos Pharos." He thoroughly enjoys the copious research he does for his stories, giving his readers more authenticity, and hopefully some things they have not been exposed to nor considered. In another word: uniqueness.

He and his wife have an intelligent son and daughter, two beautiful granddaughters, and a bright son-in-law who is in the Coast Guard.
