I'm a former Early Years teacher who escaped the chalk face and set up a storytelling business called Little Lamb Tales. When I'm not telling stories at Primary schools, community events, festivals and libraries, I loves to write. I've published around twenty children’s picture books and chapter books. Many of them featuring my storytelling mascots Lamby and Flossie. In 2019, I published a collection of short stories for adults which set me on the path to writing a full length novel, Kintsugi, which launched in May 2022 and won The Best Adult Fiction category in the Write Blend Book Awards 2023 and 1st place in the Adult Fiction category of the Book Dragon Literary Awards 2024.

I'm passionate about books, words, stories and creativity and believe that reading opens the door to the world. As a result, I loves visiting schools to deliver a range of workshops including storytelling (both listening to and teaching the children how to do this), creative writing workshops and author talks. All are designed to inspire and encourage future readers and writers.

I also enjoy working with adults and run a membership club called Pick Up Your Pen which helps writers stay on track, develop their skills and grow in confidence. I've also been running writing days and writing retreats for around ten years which I thoroughly enjoy.

I wear many hats and I'm involved in lots of projects all with literacy and creativity at their heart including The Liverpool Literacy Cycle and Kingsley & Co Bookshop where I'm a patron. I'm is also a Literacy Champion for the National Literacy Trust and an Ambassador for the UK Reads Charity.

My work has featured in several collections and I enjoy collaborating. My most recent book Stories for the Road is also a collaboration with fellow author Maggie Fogarty.

For 18 years I was a teacher who loved writing and now I'm an author who loves storytelling... how does it get any better than that?
