Ana Brazil

Ana loves to write and read historical fiction about curious, ambitious, and totally bodacious women.

Many years ago, Ana inherited the scrapbooks, recordings, and theatrical ephemera of vaudeville songstress Elsie Clark, and used this treasure trove to create Viola Vermillion, the smart, sassy, and (what else?) totally bodacious vaudeville heroine of her October 17, 2023 release THE RED-HOT BLUES CHANTEUSE.

Ana's Gilded Age New Orleans mystery FANNY NEWCOMB & THE IRISH CHANNEL RIPPER won the IBPA Gold for Historical Fiction, and her numerous short stories have appeared in crime fiction anthologies.

Ana is a founding member of the Paper Lantern Writers collective of historical fiction writers, where she blogs regularly at their website.
