Cindy Salaski is an artist, author, and photographer.
From 1991 to 2006 Salaski was a luxury home specialist with Realty Executives in Paradise Valley, Arizona. However, after studying with instructor Eric Wiegardt at the Scottsdale Artists' School in 2006, she decided to take a new path and focus on her first love - fine art.
Salaski enjoys writing, too. In 1984, she was named one of the top ten writers in the Scripts Category of the Writer's Digest Magazine Writing Competition. The judge was J. Michael Straczynski who was nominated for the BAFTA Award for his screenplay for the feature film "Changeling." In July 1997, Salaski was a winner in Pure Fiction's Electronic Slush Pile, coming in at third place. The winners were chosen by Martin Fletcher, editorial director at Simon and Schuster.
In the summer of 2012, Salaski interviewed Master Oil Painter Albert Handell, and wrote the article Mastering Brushstrokes with Albert Handell which was featured in Issue 88 (Dec/Jan 2013) of International Artist Magazine.
Cindy Salaski is the author of "Oil Painting With the Masters" which was published in July 2014 by F+W Media/North Light Books. The book features 20 of today's greatest master oil painters.
Salaski also co-authored the book "Impressionist Painting for the Landscape" with George Gallo. A screenwriter, film director, producer, painter and musician, Gallo wrote and directed "Local Color", a feature film about an aspiring young artist who befriends an elderly Russian Master. George Gallo has written and directed many other films including "Midnight Run", "Bad Boys" and "29th Street". He won the Arts for the Parks award in 1990, has had several one man shows including three at Grand Central Art Galleries in New York City and one at The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio. Gallo has received numerous awards for both his painting and filmmaking.
On September 17, 2017 Salaski published "The Neglected Ones", a supernatural suspense novel about a struggling artist who finds himself in an even greater dilemma when his mother ends up in a corrupt nursing home on the coast of Maine.
