Helmut Schonwalder, or as he prefers to write his name: helmut s. (using a lowercase "h" like humble and a little "s" just like small,) is quite familiar with the adventures of waiting in fine establishment, serving food and wine. Having had a thorough training in the restaurant and hotel industry, in Hamburg, West Germany, he knows the inside-out of the trade.
He has made a living pouring drinks, cooking and managing on three continents.
Not enough, he has experience as a salesman, selling real estate on two continents, vacuum cleaners door-to-door in the USofA. He also worked as a boat-delivery-skipper.
Aside from being a poet & writer, helmut s. is computer-literate, a professional when it comes to Apple, Microsoft or Google technology, hardware and software.
Based on his own life experiences, the son of a 46 year young farmer’s widow and a 60 year old shoemaker from the Sudetenland writes about the hardships of growing up, the fun of working to make money, and the pleasures of spending earned cash by partying.
He does not stop short of telling it, as it is, about being down and out, wanting to die, and experiencing the miracles of his "Guardian Angels" beating the odds.
In helmut s’ books both failures and success-stories go hand in hand. Much of it is based on his notes and diaries, kept daily since the early 1960s.
Just remember it’s all true fiction, even the lies are true lies.
“Enjoy and have a most beautiful day, every day, no exceptions.”
