Rob Himmel was born in Germany, but grew up in Italy, in the flourishing land of Abruzzo, among mountains, sea, and arrosticini. From a young age, he enjoyed creating board games and adventures for himself and his friends.
He fell in love with Tolkien's works during adolescence and spent over twelve years as a Dungeon Master in the famous role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. Finally, he decided to channel all his creativity into writing.
His journey as an author began in 2007, when he wrote the first version of "L’ascesa della chimera" (The Rise of the Chimera), which he launched through crowdfunding in 2016. Realizing from the outset that this path was not for him, he sought a publishing house without contribution that would invest in his talent.
Thus, in 2017, he made his debut with "Le lame scarlatte" (The Scarlet Blades), a work awarded the Trofeo Cittadella 2018. In the following years, until 2020, five of his novels were published by the same publishing house, including the successful trilogy "Il tempo dei mezzosangue" (The Time of the Half-bloods).
However, a few years later, he became disheartened by the conditions of the Italian publishing industry and the treatment of authors. In 2024, he decided to reclaim all the rights to his works to embark on a new adventure: self-publishing.
Armed with his experience and a certain following, he set himself the goal of increasing the qualitative standard of his work. All while maintaining a consistent foundation in the light of the entire Aetermundi, the narrative universe in which all his works are set.
