Andre Renee Harris

I am a storyteller at heart. A playwright, poet, and author who writes everything from children’s books to stage plays. Writing is how I channel emotion, truth, and imagination. While I enjoy working across genres, children’s books are my favorite. They give me the chance to teach core values while telling a story that captures young minds and hearts.

As a playwright, there is nothing like watching an audience respond to my work. The laughter, the sighs, the stillness in the room all let me know the message is landing. Playwriting stretches me. It is demanding, but it is also deeply rewarding.

Poetry is soul work. It connects us spiritually, emotionally, and culturally. You can find it rooted in history and sacred texts, including the Bible. For me, poetry speaks to the heart in a way that nothing else can.
