An avid reader and long-time amateur writer, R. J. Henry has created the family saga, Lessons from the Fort, which chronicles two families, joined by love, yet separated by differing mores.

Follow John and Janet as they seek to understand their past, hoping to use lessons learned to create meaning and find fulfillment in their lives. And in that process, see truth and character revealed, leading to a dramatic, unexpected, conclusion.

Retired from a distinguished career as a metallurgical engineer and educator, R. J. Henry draws on his life experiences to write about the human condition, examining subtle cultural differences and well-meaning actions that lead to conflicts and unintended consequences. He lives in a small Pennsylvania town, not unlike Fort Allegheny, in the foothills of the Appalachians and enjoys traveling with Doris and spending time with his family.
