Tad Liechty

Tad Liechty grew up in Cleveland, Ohio but has spent most of her adult life in Oxford, Ohio. After graduating from Miami University, she began a teaching career that lasted 35 years. Ms. Liechty has always loved reading. She shared her love of books by introducing her young students to many of her favorite authors and illustrators. Over the years, Ms. Liechty has written many stories about people and events in her life. She even wrote a story about a little donkey she saw every day on her way to work! However, she never considered trying to publish her stories until her retirement. At the urging of a friend, she decided to put pen to paper and Just Say So was written. Having enjoyed the experience, she went on to the write The King’s Cookies, and Martha and the Mutt. Besides writing, Ms. Liechty spends her time roaming the woods near her house with her grandsons, gardening, cooking dinners for her family, and of course reading!
