Beverly Nd Clopton

Beverly Clopton is a native of Dallas, TX. She grew up in the Big D, the eldest of nine children. Her professional career as a secondary school educator spanned more than three decades in the Dallas, Denver, and Los Angeles public school systems. Following retirement she began seriously pursuing the life long dream squashed by her mother after her graduation from college. When "momma" asked what job she was going to get, Beverly replied, "I'm going to be a writer." Not missing a beat, her mom said, "You have to get a real job that pays money. Writing is not a real job!" And because in those days, one did what mom said do, Beverly applied for jobs at the post office and school district. She passed qualifying tests at both and waited. The school district called first. She found solace in "writer's refuge," - journaling. The years of chronicling her thoughts and feelings eventually produced two self-published books: Heaven or Bust: Journey to Glory (2009) and Sonshine: Reflections of Faith (2017). Her third book is completed and she has been offered a contract for its publication. In addition to her avocation as a writer of Christian non-fiction, she enjoys reading, book club gatherings, traveling, volunteering, serving on a nationwide weekly prayer line and answering to the moniker, "Nyanya", to four grandchildren. Recently she told a friend her senior years are proving to be as adventurous as those of her younger. "Life is a gift from God," she proclaims, "one that we eagerly unwrap each morning, confident that whatever's inside will bless us in one form or another."
