A few years ago, I decided to put into print, a story which I used to tell my sons when they were young and which more recently, my grandchildren seemed to really enjoy. I would love to think that other children would take to their hearts the characters of Fred and Robert Rabbit, Cyril Squirrel and Henry Mouse. The books are called "Fred and Friends - The Magic Boat", "Fred and Friends - The Magic Boat Flies Again" and "Fred and Friends - The Picnic and a Trip to the Seaside"
Since the Covid 19 lockdown, I have written an adults' poetry book, “Sorrow and Celebrations” and also a children's original poetry and nursery rhyme book called “Time for Rhyme”. Sorrow and Celebrations is a collection of 59 poems and verse relating to everyday living, celebrations and observations. Some relate to loneliness (not my own thankfully) and bereavement. Time for Rhyme has 22 poems which are suitable for toddlers still at nursery through to infant and junior school children, probably aged about 3-8. Traditional Nursery Rhymes are great but I thought it worthwhile to have some with a more modern twist.
Since my initial foray into writing, I have added to my books, which are mainly written for children. (See below)
However, during lockdown, I also created a blog especially with retirees in mind. There are ideas for things to do in retirement, such as hobbies, DIY, writing poems, ways to earn money and much more. My book “Embracing Retirement” is based on this blog.
