Michael Cronin

Michael Cronin grew up in New England. He's lived in New York City, in the Washington, DC neighborhoods of Capitol Hill, Dupont Circle, and Georgetown, and in Maryland. He's worked with programs for the homeless for more than 20 years.

Cronin's first novel, "Reveille for a New Gospel," was published in 2017. Its sequel, "Henry's Tattoo," will be published in 2018.

Homeless men and women enrich his novels, as do the hucksters of euphemism. Post-traumatic stress disorder, PTSD, for example, is known in some streets as post-traumatic slavery disorder.

Cronin's heroes know our differences scare and divide us. They look for ways civilly to engage and overcome the divisions. They strive to be kind. To see the humor in turmoil. To live principled lives. And when attacked, instead of arguing or fighting, they silently pray: "Peace. Be still."
