Patrick McAllister, born August 18th, 1995, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) when he was twelve years old. Since then, he has served as a mentor and "College Day" panelist to adolescent and teenage patients at Yale Pediatric Endocrinology and founded a Chapter of the College Diabetes Network at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, VT, where he graduated with a degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. McAllister has also presented at several conferences, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) TypeOneNation Summit, and American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) Annual Conference. McAllister still finds time to enjoy playing pick-up sports, as well as hanging out with friends and religiously watching (and crying over) the New York Giants. McAllister is from Clinton, CT and currently resides in Farmington, CT, where he attends the UConn School of Medicine. He aspires to continue his passion of helping children with T1D with the ultimate goal of becoming a pediatric endocrinologist.
