Hi,
Thanks for visiting my Amazon page. I'm guessing you want to know more about me?
Well, I started writing in 2009 and just a few months after, I had signed my first book contract with Cassava Republic Press. My bi-cultural identity weaves through the realistic-fiction picture books I create for my primary-aged readers. I love meeting my readers and getting first hand feedback.
Books so far:
1. A FUN ABC (2016) also re-titled, A VISIT TO GRANDAD (2019) in the USA for ages 3-7
2. SNOWY JOY my first chapter (illustrated) book (2019) for ages 8 and above
Working on:
1. A BOUNCY 123 (2020) for ages 3-7
2. A Sequel to Snowy Joy
ABOUT ME:
Born at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London in the 60s but lived and started school in Rolvenden, Kent. Lived happily with my foster mother and her family. Years later, I accompanied my brother and parents to live in Nigeria where I gained two siblings and a university degree in Linguistics.
1990, returned to England, studied to become a teacher and taught at schools in Boroughs of Southwark and Redbridge.
During this season, my fascination for picture books grew, especially after meeting Quentin Blake. From then onwards, I subconsciously knew I would probably write, one day in the long future too! I am not shy of addressing difficult conversations within my children's books. For instance, Snowy Joy is a conversation in my head after experiencing Boro Haram violations whilst sojourning in Nigeria. It hints on the internal conflicts of who were are and how we fit in or not. I address issues bordering on destruction, war and powers.
While I may not be everyone's cup of tea, I'm certainly someone's Cocoa drink :)
Please keep me happy by posting your reviews. Do tell me what you think of my work; I'd eat, drink and sleep on your reviews - if I could - Ha!
Thanks for visiting.
