Heidi Rauld

Heidi Rauld is an author of both adult non-fiction and children’s fiction picture books. Heidi has a Bachelor of Arts in photography from Columbia College and spent several years as a professional photographer. Heidi has worked in the field of marketing for the last seven years.

As Miss Illinois 2006, Heidi spent a year traveling as a motivational speaker to both children and adults. During this time she spoke on behalf of organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Best Buddies, and the American Heart Association.

Heidi’s background in marketing and photography, combined with her love of writing and teaching, made writing and illustrating a natural fit.

In 2016 she co-authored Passionistas – Tips, Tales, and Tweetables from Women Pursuing Their Dreams. In 2017 she released her first children’s book Mermaid Dreams, where she is both the author and the illustrator. She photographed the illustrations for this book while she and her family were living on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize. A portion of each book sale is donated to an organization serving at risk girls and young women on the island.
