Frank Iosue was born in Los Angeles, California in 1951. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing / Poetry from The University of Iowa.

He has studied with numerous nationally-renowned and prize-winning poets. He studied with Henri Coulette as an undergraduate at CSULA; and with Donald Justice, William Matthews, Stephen Dobyns, Louise Gluck, Richard Murphy, Judith Moffett, and others, as a graduate student at The Iowa Writers' Workshop. Some of his classmates at Iowa included Rita Dove, Jorie Graham, James Galvin, Sandra Cisneros, Joy Harjo, Stuart Dischell, Michael Sofranko, and Will Schmitz.

After the death of his wife in 1999, he left a career in Marketing and returned to his poetic roots. He is the author of eleven chapbooks of poetry, and a volume of his Collected Poems: "The Au Revoir Of An Enormous Us". His poems have appeared in a number of publications, and he has received awards and acknowledgement for his work from The Academy of American Poets, and the Arizona State Poetry Society, among others. He was a finalist for the 2002 Stephen Dunn Award

He has conducted writing workshops, organized and hosted numerous reading series, and been a featured reader at numerous venues around Southern Arizona.

He lives near Tucson, Arizona.
