Dave Vizard

Dave Vizard spent decades in Michigan newsrooms — writing, editing, and chasing stories in Detroit, Flint, and Bay City. He knows how reporters think, how communities work, and where the bodies are buried. That last part comes in handy.

Vizard channels that career into the Nick Steele Mystery Series, nine novels rooted in the real places and real undercurrents of Michigan's Great Lakes region. Nick Steele is a Bay City reporter with an inconvenient talent: wherever he goes, someone turns up dead. Readers wouldn't have it any other way.
