C. Alva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in México, and a Master’s and a diploma in Expressive Arts Therapy in Switzerland and Denmark, respectively. She has worked as a teacher and psychotherapist of children, teens, and adults in private and public Institutions. In 2002 she left México to go work as a first grade teacher in a suburb of Chicago. It was then that she fell in love with children’s books. She studied very closely the material of Carl Gustav Jung, Gestalt psychology, Brief Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and worked towards a diploma in Children and Teenager’s Gestalt Therapy and Dance Therapy in Guadalajara, México. She was a part of the Lola Lince Experimental Dance Company as an amateur dancer. She likes to call herself a “Multimodal Artist.” On her spiritual quest she studied the Bible, the writings of Alan Watts, Krishnamurti, Budah, The Tao, Yi Ching, Carl Sagan, and she studied and did many psycho-magics with Alejandro Jodorowsky. And last but not least, she studied the laws of the universe applied to human change, with many of Bob Proctor’s books.

Now back home in México, she is a proud mother of two boys who inspire her. She has put together her understanding of psychology, art, and spiritual wisdom that she has studied, to provide children in a fun and understandable manner, the essential information for their well-being that according to science, and what spiritual wisdom tells, works by law.
