Teresa L. Baker

Teresa LeeAnn Baker is a wife, mother of three children, and mompreneur.

Teresa founded Brown Boy Brown Girl, LLC as a vehicle to empower and inspire brown boys and brown girls through reading in hopes of helping parents to raise confident children who see the beauty of their true selves. To further her mission of empowering children through reading, she co-authored her first literary piece titled Josie's Bedazzled Shoes with her mother.

Teresa, born and raised in Flint, Michigan by her parents, is a product of the Flint Community Schools. After graduating from high school, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Central Michigan University. She pursued a career in politics in her early 20’s. Her start there led her to a career in state lobbying for seven years.

Teresa is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and was a featured author at the 2017 Charles H. Wright African World Festival.
